  1. The Government of the United States will send to China suchVolunteers
    through the Peace Corps Program (to be known in China as theU.S.-China
    Friendship Volunteers and hereinafter referred to as”Volunteers” or the
    “Program”)as may be mutually agreed by the twoParties to perform
    mutually agreed tasks in China.

  2. The Volunteers will work under the immediate supervision
    ofgovernmental and private organizations in China designated by our
    twogovernments. For these purposes, the Ministry of Education
    hasresponsibility for matters affecting the Program that involve
    thenational or local governments, including taking administrative
    action,policy decisions, interagency cooperation, consultation with
    otherministries regarding programming outside the education sector,
    ornational coordination. The Chinese Education Association
    forInternational Exchange, acting under the general guidance
    andsupervision of the Ministry of Education, has primary responsibility
    forhelping to facilitate and coordinate Program operations at the
    locallevel.

  3. The Government of the United States will provide training toenable
    the Volunteers to perform their tasks in the most effectivemanner.

  4. The Government of China will facilitate matters for the Programand
    bear such share of the costs of the Program incurred in China as thetwo
    Parties may agree.ARTICLE II

  5. The Volunteers should obey the laws of China and the rules
    andregulations of their Program site work unit. The Government of China,
    asthe host country, will accord equitable treatment to the Volunteers
    andtheir property; accord them all necessary aid and protection,
    includingtreatment no less favorable than that accorded generally to
    nationals ofthe United States residing in China; and fully inform,
    consult, andcooperate with representatives of the United States with
    respect to allsuch matters.

  6. The Government of China will exempt the Volunteers and
    personsperforming functions under contract with the Program who are
    notcitizens of China from all taxes on payments that they receive to
    defraytheir living costs, on income derived from their work for the
    Program,and on income from other sources outside China; and from all
    customsduties or other charges on their personal property introduced
    into Chinafor their own use. The Government of China will issue, without
    fee,residence permits, health certificates, and visas,
    includingmultiple-entry visas, to Volunteers and persons performing
    functionsunder contract with the Program and will absorb any other
    charges orfees required for such persons to serve in China, except
    license fees.ARTICLE III

  7. The Government of the United States will provide the Volunteerswith
    such limited quantities of equipment and supplies as the twoParties may
    consider necessary to enable the Volunteers to perform theirtasks
    effectively.

  8. The Government of China will exempt from all taxes (including
    thevalue-added tax on vehicles), customs duties, and other charges
    allProgram equipment and supplies introduced into or acquired in China
    bythe Government of the United States, or any contractor financed by
    it,for use hereunder.ARTICLE IV

  9. For effective implementation of the Program in China, theGovernment
    of China will receive an official Program Representative ofthe United
    States to serve as Program Director in China (hereinafterreferred to as
    “Director”)and such staff to work with the Director(including employees
    and contractor personnel as designated by theDirector), and members of
    their families forming part of theirhouseholds, as are acceptable to the
    Government of China. The Governmentof China will exempt such persons who
    are not citizens of China from alltaxes on income derived from their
    work for the Program or other sourcesoutside China; and from all customs
    duties or other charges on theirpersonal property introduced into China
    for their own use.

  10. The Director, staff, and members of their families forming partof
    their households, who are not citizens of China, shall be accordedstatus
    equivalent to that accorded administrative and technical staffpersonnel
    of the diplomatic mission of the United States, except theywill not be
    accorded immunities.

  11. The Government of China will issue, without fee, residencepermits,
    health certificates, and visas, including multiple-entry visas,to the
    Director, staff, and individuals performing functions under
    thisAgreement, and members of their families forming part of
    theirhousehold, except that a fee will be charged for visas issued
    toaccompanying spouses who are engaged in other work in China and
    tochildren who are more than 18 years of age. The Chinese Party
    willabsorb any other charges or fees required for such persons to serve
    inChina, except license fees.ARTICLE V

1、志愿者应坚守中国法律及项目所在单位的规制。作为东道主,中中原人民共和国政坛将公平地对待志愿者连同财产,予以任何须求的救助和维护,包罗提供起码与任何在中原居住的法国人持之以恒的待遇,并就有关事宜向美方表示通报详细景况、举办交涉与搭档。

The activities of each Party under this Agreement are subject to

第七条

This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature andshall
remain in force until ninety days after the date of the
writtennotification from either Party to the other of its intention
toterminate the Agreement.

第六条

1、经签名双方同意,美利坚合众国政坛将经过和平队项目(在神州称“美中友爱志愿者”,以下简称“志愿者”或“项目”)向中中原人民共和国派遣志愿者,施行签订契约双方同意的在中原的职分。

The Government of China will exempt from investment and
depositrequirements and currency controls or restrictions all funds
introducedinto China to pay for Program costs, operations, or activities
underthis Agreement by the Government of the United States or
contractorsfinanced by it. Such funds shall be convertible into the
currency ofChina at the highest rate that is not unlawful in
China.ARTICLE VI

对此U.S.A.政坛或由美方出资的承包商依照本协议引进中华人民共和国用来开垦项目运转及其他运动所需的资金财产,中华夏族民共和国政坛将使其免于中夏族民共和国斥资、积贮及货币流通制度的界定。此项基金应能在中原以合法的点子按最高汇率兑换来人中学华人民共和国钱币。

  1. Appropriate representatives of the two Parties may make
    sucharrangements with respect to the Volunteers and the Program in China
    asappear necessary or appropriate for the purpose of implementing
    thisAgreement.

  2. Any disputes arising under this Agreement will be resolvedamicably by

This agreement may be amended by mutual consent of the two
